North Korea is a theme park. A country-sized theme park that closes at night. Controlled by Disney or some conglomerate well-versed in creating fear theater.

It's headed by a Swiss-educated plant meant to play a part like a minimum-wage Mickey Mouse mascot standing next to a concession stand.

This theme park plays the part of the boogeyman, nukes and all. It's painted as a legitimate country when it's really a just a gigantic playground.

The citizens are (unwitting) staff/employees of this park. It doesn't even have a central bank...and I'm guessing it doesn't need to.

Just like Disney World has a huge underground facilities, this place is bunkered up, too.

The owners of the park could hide anything there. ET contact, weapons...

The entire park is literally employed to pretend it's a country, a land. Like Disney Land.
