Mohamed Amersi was born is Kenya in 1960 at age 16 he moved to the UK
Amersi co-founded and is the CEO of Emergent Telecom Ventures in 2002, an Emerging Markets advisory and investment firm, specialising in Telecoms, Media and Technology.
From 2008 to 2013 he was also a senior advisor to the TeliaSonera Group, (2012 Documentary about the company inderectly supporting dictatorships vimeo.com/41248885)
Mohamed also launched the Inclusive Ventures Group, a responsible profits social impact investing platform that has invested in education, livelihood, health and waste management in Africa and Asia with partnerships between the Gates Foundation, Omidyar Networks, Khosla Ventures, CDC and Mark Zuckerberg
Previously, Mr. Amersi was a member of the Board of Rothschild Middle-East, Rothschild’s European Advisory Council, Motorola entities, Megafon and hadchaired the Board of Mi-Fone.
In 2012 He founded the Amersi Foundation to support the voice of young people and extending their opportunities in education. The Foundation has supported many organisations across the globe that work with young people to help raise their aspirations including One Young World and a partner ship with the Kofi Annan Foundation

He died on the 18th of August 2018 at the age of 80 in hospital in Bern, Switzerland, after a brief illness. He had been active in his Foundation’s work right up to his unexpected end.
