notables were originally brought into being to keep researchers from duplicating work and up to date on recent findings and theories. Somewhere along the line when new findings slowed down it became a news aggregator and then fell into disarray via subversive elements baking or squabbling over what was or was not notable and ended up a bloated list of news and nonsense.

The BAKER's editorial discretion, discernment and critical thinking helped to winnow the bread full of shitpost, clowns, shills and true gems down to just the gems. Like panning for gold it takes skill.

Now it's less than optimally efficient
