"Steele confirmed Nuland, Winer, and Talbott invited him for a meeting to discuss the dossier research when lawyers asked whether Talbott helped open the doors for a meeting with State officials.
“I think Strobe Talbott had gotten in touch with us much earlier than [October],” Steele said. “I remember taking a phone call from him, your lordship, earlier in the summer in which he said that he was aware that I had.
