In January 2010, Dodd announced that he would not run for re-election.[2] Dodd was succeeded by fellow Democrat Richard Blumenthal. Dodd then served as chairman and chief lobbyist for the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) during 2011–2017.[3][4] In 2018, Dodd returned to the practice of law, joining the firm Arnold & Porter. He is also a member of the ReFormers Caucus of Issue One.[5]
