Wildfire smoke at 'hazardous' levels for second day in a row

SEATTLE – Air quality is at hazardous levels as wildfire smoke from the historic fires in Oregon and California continues to stream back into Western Washington.

All Seattle parks and beaches are shut down for the weekend as the forecast shows little improvement this weekend.

>The terrible air quality has exacerbated the challenges the region has faced with the COVID-19 pandemic as health officials have spent months trying to prevent people from gathering inside to limit the spread of the virus, only now to have to keep people from heading outside into the unhealthy air.
