Former software guru and one-time presidential candidate John McAfee has been nabbed in Spain on tax evasion and cryptocurrency fraud, ending his year long stint as a globetrotting fugitive. He now faces extradition to the US.

The US Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission both announced charges for McAfee on Monday, hitting the security software founder with 10 counts linked to dodging the IRS and another series of charges for promoting investments in cryptocurrencies without disclosing that he was paid some $23 million to do so.

“John McAfee earned millions in income from promoting cryptocurrencies, consulting work, speaking engagements, and selling the rights to his life story for a documentary,” the DOJ said in a statement. “From 2014 to 2018, McAfee allegedly failed to file tax returns, despite receiving considerable income from these sources.”

The Washington Post's Jennifer Rubin wants Walter Reed National Military Medical Center to be defunded for potentially causing a health hazard after releasing President Donald Trump on Monday evening.

Rubin tweeted:

"Any MD who publicly endorses this insanity needs to lose his/her license. Period. Congress might want to defund Walter Reed. It is a public health hazard."

In another tweet, Rubin wrote:

"A 74 yr old [obese] man with covid – who might have lung damage – and a pattern of disregarding medical advice is returned to an environment in which he may infect others. What planet does Conley inhabit? Where is the rest of Walter Reed? The VP? They are remarkable cowards."

In September, Rubin removed the word "conservative" from her Twitter biography. The Washington Post writer has remained a staunch Trump opponent during his time in office, often putting her at odds with other Republicans.

"Let's be honest: There is no conservative movement or party today," Rubin said. "There is a Republican Party thoroughly infused with racism and intellectually corrupted by right-wing nationalism. But there is no party that believes in less or small government."

GOP deploys secret weapon against vulnerable Democrats: Ilhan Omar

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — The GOP has unleashed a secret weapon against Democrats here in Minnesota: Rep. Ilhan Omar.

The liberal firebrand has become such a polarizing figure that Rep. Collin Peterson, one of the more vulnerable incumbent Democrats, is distancing himself from Ms. Omar in a television ad in his competitive race against former Lt. Gov. Michelle Fischbach.

In fact, the 15-term incumbent has said the freshman lawmaker “doesn’t belong in our party.”

Former Rep. Jason Lewis, meanwhile, is airing an attack ad against Sen. Tina Smith featuring a video clip of Ms. Omar, who wears a hijab, shouting into a microphone, “Dismantle the Minneapolis Police Department.”

“That is why Tina Smith endorsed Omar,” the narrator says in the Lewis ad. “Jason Lewis supports the police. If you do too vote Jason Lewis for the Senate.”
