But think about what happens when you get an organ transplant. Even if the DNA matches as close as it can get (without being an identical twin) the body will likely reject it. Even close matches with organ transplants are given immune suppressants for the rest of their lives.
Our bodies attack any FOREIGN substance introduced within that it deems hostile. This is especially true for living tissues or bacterias.
ex- You get a cut that introduces a bacteria, say staph. Hopefully, your immune system responds by surrounding that bacteria and attacking it with white blood cells creating a boil or pimple filled with pus.
Same with foreign DNA such a fetal tissue. Injected directly into the blood stream however, there is no way to isolate and seal off the invader. Your entire body becomes inflamed, cells looking to attack the foreign substance, but it can't because now it's everywhere. Got it?
Auto immune diseases are where the body attacks itself.
