Seems the FBI was doing an investigation and notable people previously thought to have been involved in the assassination were actively obstructing the FBI's investigation.
According to this, Alice Lazzara, widow of Primo Lazzara, knew something concerning Santo Trafficante Jr., because she believed Santo would have to pay her to keep quiet.
