I don't think you can know which bread the post number is until you click it. Here's a tip. At the top right of the bread, click on Options. Under the General category, click Color IDs. Refresh the bread for the change to take effect. Now each ID will be highlighted in colors. If you're on a PC/Laptop, and hover your mouse over the "relied to" post number, the hover box will display the post, and if it's in a previous bread, the ID will not be in color.

This doesn't work on a mobile device.

What's helpful for me is to open it in a different tab. (Right click on PC, press and hold on mobile.

And back to original question of knowing which bread, there will be a description on the tab, or at the top of the bread.

Thank you for this thread. I think it's a great tool for newfags to learn, and for those of us maybe not so new. Now the trick will be to figure out how to lead people here. Maybe a link in the Quick Access Tools section of the General breads?

Also, I noticed it's not stickied yet. Can we get that done to keep this up top of the catalog?

No there isn’t a way to search all breads. It’s been a topic of discussion, and a separate thread was started. You can find it in the catalog. Quest for Searchability. They may have a better answer.

I’ve assumed you were talking about general discussions in the breads.At the top of each Q Research bread, there are tools, sites, etc. for just Q posts.

It’s recommended that if there are posts you want to save, you should screen cap them, and save them to your local device.
