So if impeachment only works on government employees and people in official positions – would the office of the former President be an official position?

Why is he doing this? Wouldn’t he be able to be impeached if such an office is operating in some official capacity?

A private citizen cannot be impeached. I think Trump has some shitty ass lawyers which is why he lost all 80 something election court cases.

I’m not even buying that Trump wants this impeachment trial. There’s no way he can get discovery to include election fraud evidence because this is a separate issue.

The charge he is being impeached for is incitement of violence and nothing to do with elections.
