I have been thinking about the COVID vaccine(s) lately and something doesn't add up. Please chime in with your thoughts because I don't know where else to discuss this without it getting flamed out of existence.

Statement/Axiom 1: the COVID vaccine is not meant to stop virus transmission but is only meant to reduce symptoms.

Statement/Axiom 2: Pfizer (and others) boast a vaccine efficacy of 95% where, if you take the vaccine, you're 95% less likely to contract the virus

How can you (or anyone else) reconcile these two statements? If the COVID vaccine is not meant to stop transmission, then why the hell can Pfizer get away with claiming 95% efficacy regarding transmission when transmission reduction isn't a feature of the vaccine?!
