we have heard of 77th Brigade before. Remember that British guy who was involved with Bernie's campaign back in2016 who turned out to be British intel? I think 77th Brigade was also involved with the Alabama senate race in 2018, election integrity project, as well as other fuckery in Europe + NATO gay ops
Meanwhile the government and military secrecy and unclear public statements have produced confusion and suspicion surrounding 77th Brigade. A 2019 public statement that “77 Brigade do not conduct UK operations” jarred with a lack of clarity in communicating their new role countering coronavirus disinformation and critics questioned their use for domestic audiences. The Times has characterized their cultural experts monitoring anti-vaccine behavior on cyberspace as ‘army spies’. An MOD spokesperson, for this article confirmed that, “77th Brigade, Defence Cultural Support Unit, Target Audience Analysis and Web Ops capabilities are not being directed at the UK population. 77th Brigade do not, and have never, conducted any kind of action against British citizens.” The spokesperson also said “77th Brigade are not currently supporting the Cabinet Office with any projects that would involve interaction with British Citizens who might be posting disinformation or misinformation.”
But in a June a statement to me about 77th Brigade’s involvement during COVID-19, the UK Army Secretariat stated “the MOD team has been working within the Cabinet Office’s Rapid Response Unit to tackle a range of harmful narratives online. As a UK Government unit, they have two primary audiences – Government Departments and British Citizens, as well as anyone else seeking reliable information online.” They explained the “activity 77th Brigade have been engaged in within the scope of the request is conducted under the same rules as the civil servants they are working alongside.”
