Rather,

it teaches one's good works cannot sustain him as they are filthy rags.

Job was being tempted with false doctrines from the others as to why they believed him to be impious and worthy of damnation.

Despite Job's weakness in listing all his good deeds in self pity,

those deeds aren't why God kept him safe during his temptation,

showing the Enemy that one in whom is merely a shred of faith,

as a mustard seed,

cannot fall to apostate doctrines,

doing so not on his own merits,

but by God's Grace.

Job was shown his good deeds did not keep safe,

and despite having lost everything he owned on earth,

including his reputation and standing as a leader,

the one thing the Enemy of God could not take was the Faith God had granted him.

With that Faith now having been strengthened through his tribulation,

he bore even more fruit,

but this time with true knowledge of God's Grace,

and his own limitations as a vessel of earth.
