Good times. Thanks for the clip, anon.

CS, which stands for 0-chlorobenzalmalononitrile, is actually a white solid powder usually mixed with a dispersal agent, like methylene chloride, which carries the particles through the air. CS is more stable, more potent and less toxic than the more commonly used CN agent.

Nothing ever happened (as usual). More DS coverups.

Did CS exposure inside the Mt. Carmel compound prevent any of the inhabitants from exiting?

Although the exact answer to this question may never be known, there are at least two reasons why CS probably did not worsen the situation during the seige. First, on the day tear gas was deployed there was a steady 17 to 24 mph wind, which, combined with gaping holes in the compound made by the tanks, created a situation where much of the tear gas was blown away. Second, there was a supply of gas masks inside the compound, some of which were used by the Davidians during the siege. A fire report written by Texas-based investigators called the tear gas operation a failure.

AP: Trooper kicked, dragged Black man who died in custody

A Louisiana State Police trooper has been suspended without pay for kicking and dragging a handcuffed Black man whose in-custody death remains unexplained and the subject of a federal civil rights investigation.

Body camera footage shows Master Trooper Kory York dragging Ronald Greene “on his stomach by the leg shackles” following a violent arrest and high-speed pursuit, according to internal State Police records obtained by The Associated Press.

The records are the first public acknowledgement by State Police that Greene was mistreated, and they confirm details provided last year by an attorney for Greene’s family who viewed graphic body camera footage of the May 2019 arrest and likened it the police killing of George Floyd. The video shows troopers choking and beating the man, repeatedly jolting him with stun guns and dragging him face-down across the pavement, the attorney told AP.

State Police have repeatedly refused to publicly release the body camera footage. The agency has been tight lipped about Greene’s death and initially blamed the man’s fatal injuries on a car crash outside Monroe, La.

York, who turned his own body camera off on his way to the scene, is seen on other body-cam footage yanking Greene’s shackles and repeatedly using profanity toward Greene before he died in custody.

“You’re gonna lay on your f(asterisk)(asterisk)(asterisk)(asterisk)(asterisk)(asterisk) belly like I told you!” the trooper says at one point, according to the police records.

Residents asked not to return home immediately following detonation of bomb

Residents are unable to return home immediately after a Second World War bomb found in Exeter was detonated, with the explosion heard for miles.

Devon and Cornwall Police were alerted after the device was discovered on a building site on private land to the west of the University of Exeter campus at about 9.20am on Friday.

Initially, a 100-metre cordon was erected, but this was extended to 400 metres on Saturday at the request of the Royal Navy bomb disposal team.

Around 2,600 properties in the vicinity of Glenthorne Road, including 1,400 university students, were evacuated on Friday and Saturday.

LOL.

You don't, unless you are the commander in chief, and even then, there is a slew of people who would have to approve the command if it was even something they could command.

Use of the phrase "the military" is highly misunderstood. Some divided fraction of the military, I gather, is going to rise up against the Secretary of Defense and turn over (through who or where, I don't know) mountains of such shocking evidence that everyone will immediately lay down like lambs and let us have our way for a change.

TL:DR: I'd say it's a wish. Never going to happen.

Biden Justifies U.S. Strike on Syria to His Democratic Critics

By Tony Czuczka February 27, 2021, 4:13 PM CST

President Joe Biden provided an official explanation of the airstrike that targeted Iranian-backed fighters in eastern Syria, saying he was using his authority to deter attacks on U.S. and allied personnel in Iraq.

Biden’s letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Patrick Leahy, president pro tempore of the Senate, follows criticism by some Democrats of the circumstances of his first overt use of military force, about five weeks after taking office. Like a long line of his predecessors, Biden said he was informing Congress “consistent with” the War Powers Act, without acknowledging that he was required to do so.

The president said he “directed this military action to protect and defend our personnel and our partners against these attacks and future such attacks” under his constitutional authority to conduct U.S. foreign policy and as commander in chief, according to the letter, which was released by the White House on Saturday.

“Those non-state militia groups were involved in recent attacks against United States and Coalition personnel in Iraq,” including a Feb. 15 attack in Erbil that wounded a U.S. service member and four U.S. contractors and killed a Filipino contractor, Biden wrote to Pelosi and Leahy.

Some Democrats had called out Biden, saying he didn’t inform Congress in advance.

Hooray for Cuba?

Bruno RodrĂguez condemns US attacks on the Syrian border

Havana, Feb 27.- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno RodrĂguez today condemned the recent attacks by the United States in the Syrian province of Deir Ezzor, near the border with Iraq.

In a message posted on his Twitter account, the Minister of Foreign Relations described the action as a flagrant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of that sister nation and of International Law and the UN Charter.

This is the first military operation of the Joe Biden administration, which justified the attack in response to recent attacks in Iraq against representatives of the United States and its allies.

US forces launched an airstrike on a structure that the Pentagon said belonged to Iranian-backed militias in retaliation for recent attacks by US and coalition personnel in Iraq.

According to reports, about twenty militiamen lost their lives in the Abu Kamal area, in the Deir Ezzor province, due to this offensive.

The Syrian government, for its part, condemned the attack and warned that it will have consequences that will aggravate the situation in the region.

A statement from the Foreign Ministry indicates that this cowardly aggression against areas in Deir Ezzor province, near the Syrian-Iraqi border, contradicts international law and the United Nations Charter.

What the US occupation forces are doing is a flagrant attack on the sovereignty, unity and integrity of the Syrian territories and a violation of international law and Security Council resolutions related to this nation, the Syrian government statement states.
