Yes, every anatomical reference in the gospels refer to the times (days) we learn of from the image of Daniel (from the bottom up). The neck refers to the point between the fourth (silver torso) and the fifth (golden head). This is exactly where we are today - between the fourth (think breastplate of righteousness) and fifth (as the helmet of salvation) - the first two of the three "latter days." The rebel son is taken at the neck. And divine wisdom (the gold) is now just around the corner.
There is also a law in the OT that says the first male born of any goat must be "broken" at the neck. (Think of breaking a horse as the "spiritual" law parallel here)
