So from this I gather that Gnositicism/Jesuits and Catholic (the Vatican and its edicts, not the people) is all bullshit? So then what should we stick to? KJV? And what is your opinion on the Essenes Gospel? I read it last night and it really gave me hope that fasting could cure my disease. (Although the whole don't even eat cooked food thing will be really rough…I could forgo meat but no more bread, no more mashed potatoes?) I could do anything at this point really, if it meant some joy coming back into my life.
Ok, so we need to stick to KJV red letter. I was reading John last night and it resonated with me. What about Essenes then?
I still think there could be something to gnosticism, that all caps guy was probably a shill. I really like the quote "worry not what you put in your mouth, but what proceed out of your mouth."
>That being said, I believe the Bible presents that all mankind are/will be saved in any case, no matter what they believe.
>That being said, I believe the Bible presents that all mankind are/will be saved in any case, no matter what they believe.
>That being said, I believe the Bible presents that all mankind are/will be saved in any case, no matter what they believe.
Can you elaborate on this, because there appears to be much in the Bible that contradicts this, including the way is narrow, the second death, and especially Revelation.
At this point I think I will just be reading the Gospels and seeing what resonates.
Honestly it sounds like you just redefined everyone who will not be saved as "devils." So we're really at the same point we began: not everyone (every "man") will be saved.
Also how do you square "whosoever believeth in me shall be saved" with "anyone can believe whatever they want and be saved". The first post you say "all mankind will be saved regardless of what they believe" and the second post you say "well there are men and devils and devils won't be saved." I really don't like people like you who always seem to like putting mud in the waters. It seems that you are the one resisting the word at this point. Your next post should be very clear or I'll know who you are at that point.
>It doesn't matter to me if you think God in Christ saving all people is a problem.
I really don't see it as a problem, it's actually a great relief to me. I was in a bad mood yesterday and I am just very weary of the "apparent contradictions" and was trying to get someone to explain it. Thank you very much for doing that. The water is looking more clear to me now.
As I was saying I read John the other night and it resonated with me. I plan on picking up and reading the rest of the Bible. I see a lot of numbers every day (not sure if you believe in that) and I know there is something I am supposed to be doing, but I'm not sure quite what it is yet.
Can I ask you one more question if you don't mind? What do you think of the gnostic/apocrypha texts? Secret book of John, gospel of Thomas, might as well ask about Enoch while I have you on the line.
Thank you again, I deeply appreciate you taking the time to type that all out and sorry for the snark.
Also any tips on dealing with someone who inevitably say "Hey Leviticus says put fags to death! GTFO with your old fashioned religion blah blah blah"?
I plan spreading the good news to people my age and I already know this will be the #1 issue…whether they are gay or not. I can deal with pretty much any other issue in the Bible except this.
