Where did Left and Right labels originate? The answer may surprise you.

Before I drop the bomb, let me build the foundation showing how pervasive the Left vs Right distinctions have become.

Why do people in all cultures shake hands with their right hand and not their left?

When you get an eye examination and you need corrective lens, the prescription for your glasses or contacts will have OS and OD along with some numbers. OS is Latin oculus sinister or the left eye while OD is Latin meaning oculus dexter or right eye.

What you may ask is so sinister about the left eye? Is it the source of the "evil eye" as some speculate? No. There is nothing inherently sinister about the left eye. However, the left being associated with something bad is an important clue.

Why is an important and dependable person called a right hand man (or right hand person to be PC)?

Since some leftist are satanic and worship statues with a goat's head, do you think it is a coincidence that the Bible mentions "the goats on the left." (Mathew 25:33)?

Now that we have established the historical and spiritual foundation of left and right distinctions, where did the different originate?

The answer to that question is graphic and may be repulsive to some. If you of faint of heart, this would be a good place to stop reading.

I worked many years with many indigenous people in many impoverished areas of the Middle East, Africa, and Central America. Here is the ugly truth….today – ¬as it has been for thousands of years – in many impoverish areas there is not any toilette paper to clean the feces from one's anus. Therefore, many people in impoverish areas usually use their left hand to clean the feces from their anus.

You can probably guess the next step. If there is not enough toilette paper, then there probably is not enough soap. Water without soap is insufficient to clean feces from one's hand and fingernails. Worse yet, if water is scarce, a hand rub in the dirt is be best that can be achieved under those circumstances.

Therefore, the left hand is associated throughout history as the sinister hand as it is associated with feces and filth and the resulting disease and sometimes death.
