Why would anyone hang themselves especially when you can overdose or shoot yourself so easily? Hanging as a form of suicide was usually only for prisoners who had no access to drugs or guns.
Hanging is the choice execution for TRAITORS. There has been an awful lot of such hangings recently. Probably people who wanted out to save their own asses.
