They're afraid the memo is going to completely destroy the Russian narrative/Mueller investigation. They're afraid that not only will the entire investigation be shown to be a farce but it will also show how the MSM participated in propagating it despite KNOWING it was fake.
The MSM is going to claim that the current IG/DOJ is infiltrated by the Russians and have been trying to stonewall Mueller's investigation.
To keep them blind, you have to feed them fear.
Fear = Russians. The MSM will pretend to be the only ones able/willing to protect the public from this menace.
