Article 1, investing the legislature in congress. You give up your right to say what the law is.
Article 2, investing the power of the executive in the president. You give up the right to appoint yourself president except by the proper process
Article 3, the power to decide whether law is being adhered to is invested in the Supreme Court. You get the idea.
And so on…
All other rights belong to the people. Other rights. You have to give up some rights to have good government.
And I agree with those who were against the BOR. I don't think it was a good idea to specifically define those rights, but hey it seems to be working.
