Here's an interview (link at bottom) with the two guys who made the Detestable Documentary about Satanic Ritual Abuse.
They raise some great points:
-
the words "Satanic Panic" were used much like "conspiracy theorist" are today - to make anyone who is looking into this look crazy
-
Around 1991, law enforcement began to separate the occult elements from the crime. So if someone had to worship their god while raping a toddler, they would only look at the crime, not the spiritual aspect.
-
As such, law enforcement routinely ignores the ritual aspect of most abuse because it's not illegal to be a Satanist.
-
However, if one's religion requires them to engage in pedophilia or cannibal rituals, then that religion is a conduit to crimes.
-
Most churches won't touch this subject with a 10 foot pole because to do so would turn off the rainbows and unicorns sermons that bring in $$ to churches.
-
The takedown of various human trafficking rings is directly correlated with lower level operatives getting rounded up.
-
If we don't address the spiritual aspect of ritual abuse, it will continue.
Fascinating stuff.
