I'd generally allocate the term Affiliate to a sort of sub-station of a national syndicate… not as difficult when there are only 6 major media corporations…
But affiliate itself does'nt relegate itself to that of media stations.. Surely could be attributed to those financially/informationally contributing to politicians as well.
