Michael Cohen's lawyer says he will not accept pardon from 'criminal' Donald Trump

Unexpected statement removes what was thought to be president's best chance of keeping former lawyer from revealing inner workings of his campaign and subsequent period in White House

Michael Cohen's lawyer has said his client will refuse any pardon from Donald Trump, branding the US president a "criminal".

Lanny Davis, who was hired by Mr Cohen last month, told National Public Radio Mr Trump's former attorney would "never" accept a pardon from "a man that he considers to be a corrupt and a dangerous person".

The unexpected statement comes as yet another blow to Mr Trump's chances of extricating himself from what is developing into a legal minefield.

Mr Davis has said his client “has information” on the president that would interest special counsel Robert Mueller, investigating possible links between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Asked on CNN whether his client would speak to Mr Mueller, Mr Davis said that: “I do believe that he has information about Mr Trump that would be of interest both in Washington as well as New York state.

“I know that he wants to tell the truth about Mr Trump and when he first came to me we had long conversations about his views, about the suitability of Mr Trump to be president of the United States, and I believe that Michael Cohen is motivated for his country as well as concern about his family.

FBI, DHS Confirm Florida Election System Not Hacked, Contrary To Dem Senator’s Claims

Earlier this month, Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL) claimed that Russians had “penetrated” the Florida election system. Now the FBI and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have written a letter definitively contradicting his claims.

“They have already penetrated certain counties in the state and they now have free rein to move about,” he told the Tampa Bay Times on August 8. “We were requested by the chairman and vice chairman of the Intelligence Committee to let the supervisors of election in Florida know that the Russians are in their records.

The Florida Department of State immediately refuted Nelson’s claim, and said they had no evidence to back up Nelson’s claims. Nelson then began walking back what he said, while still claiming he hadn’t misled anyone.

“What I said last week was exactly what the letter states,” Nelson says in a video released August 15. “What that letter says is, in essence, is that it would be foolish to think if the Russians were in our election apparatus in 2016 … that they are not continuing.”

But that’s not what Nelson said originally. He said he had been told there was already a breach, a claim The Washington Post awarded “Four Pinocchios,” for being a complete lie.

White House Reporter: Sarah Sanders Should Pay For My Bodyguard Since She's 'Stirring' Up Threats

A White House correspondent who often says outrageous things on CNN, where she moonlights as a contributor, says Press Secretary Sarah Sanders should for pay her bodyguard for "stirring it up."

April Ryan, the Washington bureau chief for American Urban Radio Networks, is often combative in the daily White House briefings, interrupting Sanders and demanding answers (along with posing questions about whether President Trump is a racist). That commitment to true journalism (ha) has led to problems, she claims.

“I've had some people wait for me outside the White House,” Ryan told The Hollywood Reporter. “There is a concern now. I mean, I've had death threats, I've had craziness, so I have a real concern.”

“Do I have a bodyguard?” Ryan said. “Yes, I do. Am I paying for it? Yes, I am. And, I think [Sanders] should have to pay for it, especially if she's stirring it up with her boss.”

“I did not sign up for this. I was just doing a job,” Ryan added.

Ryan said she began receiving death threats after she asked Sanders if President Trump was considering resigning.

She has cashed in as part of the "fake news" anti-Trumpers. She has a new book coming out in September, "Under Fire: Reporting From the Front Lines of the Trump White House," which she'll hype in coming appearances on "The Daily Show," "This Week" with George Stephanopoulos‎ and, of course, on CNN, THR reported.
