HUMINT from my weird winding life.

I was in a brothel in Germany with my friends. They all went away with girls and I, the token moralist prude, sat at the bar and ordered a drink.

I began chatting up the male bartender, and after a short bit, he smiled, looked at me, and said, "You know, you look just like the guy who was sitting in that seat about one week ago. Same situation, all his friends went in and he sat there sipping a scotch, like you."

Long story short - it was Matt Damon according to the brothel barkeep. From that little anecdote, I don't think he's a particularly bad one.

There's a few reasons they can't meme.

According to meโ€ฆ

Good memes usually involve humor. When you have to be PC and can't offend anyone except traditional stereotypes, it's flat and lame unless you're programmed for that humor.

Effective memes are based in reality, not fantasy land.

At a deeper level, it goes to r vs K selection.
