I see a bunch of different messaging around SecureDrop, but it seems incomplete and/or non-unified - so let me put all of my thoughts in one place:
-
SecureDrop is at a minimum compromised by C_A
-
SecureDrop may have been a C_A op from the beginning
-
While the encryption may in fact be strong, the anonymity is a lie
-
It's a honeypot, where genuine whistleblowers can be identified, and targeted
-
It's also used as a message platform for bad actors, including but not limited to Mockingbird related communications
Related items:
– A bad actor, and taken out by white hats (less likely)
– An innocent, who discovered the true nature of SecureDrop, and was taken out by black hats (I lean toward this)
– Specifically Tor
