Nope. It's not deleted. It's hidden. As a BO, you can hide locked threads from non admins. The thread is still accessible however. You just can't post in it because it's locked.

We were all able to post in there, then it was locked late, Q realised he they fucked up and finally found the lock button, then hid the thread by "Hiding all locked threads" It's an option for Admins.
