It's more about freedom of choice IMO
Besides I'd rather people be using Marijuana that's easier to pick up & put down as a pain killer than Vicoden or Oxy which are highly addictive as well as deadly AND those medications have many adverse affects on the body, particularly internal organs.
One cannot deny the fact that opioid use goes WAY down where Medical Marijuana is readily available.

They can't tax if one grows their own ;)
That's where RECREATIONAL Marijuana will come in play, no tax for Medicinal use, taxes for recreational users.
