These are older articles, but I find the connection interesting. Two cult-like organizations (mind control) both are recruiting in prisons. All armies need a continual resupply of soldiers.

 

Perhaps targeting inmates is a way to recruit a labor pool that has already demonstrated a willingness to commit a crime.

 

The last one is for Keks, kinda. L. Ron Hubbard Mark 2 has an infinity tattoo on his forehead. He was first introduced to Scientology while in prison.

Another advantage to recruiting prisoners. Anger, looking for retribution, limited opportunities elsewhere makes these candidates loyal, motivated, and gives them a sense of purpose.

Prison time can be used for training (indoctrination) and radicalizing. Once the sentence is over the prisoner will belong to a new group (gang).

 

This article expresses concerns about Muslims being radicalized as a consequence of their incarceration and then becoming terrorists after release.
