"The Coast Guard suspended its search late Wednesday for a pilot whose plane crashed off the coast of Cape May earlier in the day.
A Coast Guard spokesman said that other agencies such as the New Jersey State Police will continue the search for the pilot.
FAA officials said the Mooney M20J aircraft crashed in the water at about 11:30 a.m. about 1,200 feet from the Cape May Lighthouse and was submerged in the ocean."
