Interesting. Along the same lines, I've been meaning to check if there are any hits winding back 13 minutes for the difference between Julian and Gregorian calendars.

I've been reflecting on this for a few weeks, and had a pretty wild idea brings in a few concepts:

  • both minute hand and hour hand

  • helix

  • torus

 

If you think of time as a cycle that progresses in a helical/spiral, then the "timeline" can trace the surface of a torus.

 

The hour hand used as a radial spoke of the main/large circle in the torus, with the minute hand as a radial spoke of the tube that circles the main toroidal circle.

 

One revolution of the hour hand would be 60 points along the path of the helix, thus 12 total "winds" of the helix before circumnavigating the full torus.
