1) [Triads] - Kidnap westerner doing business or teaching in Mainland China.
2) [PRC Officials + PSB] - In cahoots w/ [Triads].
3) Westerner might be accused of some kind of crime if he or she tries to "Blow the Whistle" on the [Triads & PRC/PSB Operatives].
→ This is the most common = "You evil westerner, you committed crime (X). But if you PAY, we will let you go."
Just search stories of western teachers & business people abducted and held for ransom. You'll find'em.

Also search "Black Prisons/Jails" China = For Chinese citizens considered enemies of the state.
Triads = Just like in the USA Mafia/MS-13 etc.:

Being kidnapped & held for ransom was ALWAYS an ever present danger when I lived in Mainland China.
Being WELL AWARE corrupt [Gov Officials] were in cahoots with the [Triads].
