WATCH: Navy SEAL climbs flagpole to fix neglected US flag

A former Navy SEAL went above and beyond to adjust an American flag improperly hung from a pole in his community.

Dom Raso had just finished up his 3.5-mile morning run when he noticed that the flag flying at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront Navy SEAL monument was dangling from just one hook, so he shimmied his way up the pole to correct it.

Raso is a former SEAL Team 6 operative who retired from the Navy in 2012 and works for the Dynamis Alliance self-defense company, Virginia Pilot Online reported.

He wrote on Facebook along with the video, “Flag needed to be fixed at the Navy SEAL monument this morning. After a 3.5 mile run and smoked from the previous attempts, this was my 4th attempt at trying to get up and fix the flag.”

Trump, Pakistan's Khan discuss way out of Afghanistan war

President Donald Trump voiced optimism on Monday that Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan could help broker a political settlement to end the nearly 18-year-old US war in Afghanistan and held out the possibility of restoring aid to Islamabad.

"I think Pakistan is going to help us out to extricate ourselves," Trump said, with Khan sitting next to him at the start of a White House meeting.

Trump spoke of possibly restoring $1.3 billion (€1.2bn) in American aid that he had cut last year, depending upon the results of the meeting, and offered to mediate in the longstanding dispute between Pakistan and India over the Kashmir region.

The United States and Pakistan have a complicated relationship. Trump last year complained on Twitter that the Pakistanis "have given us nothing but lies & deceit" and “give safe haven" to militants. Pakistan has denied the accusations.

Perhaps it is not the Brexit, the Islamic immigration, or the different separatists’ movements that are endangering the European Union grandiose project, but rather the erosion of some of its core fundamental values. The way EU diplomacy has been handling the liberation of Venezuela, may epitomize this erosion in terms of double standards. In democracy, strategic institutional decision-making should not be made on gut feelings, ideological biases or personal sympathies. It should rather be based on empirical evidence, intelligence reports and fundamental principles.

Does the Mercedes Benz logo make you think “luxury,” “style,” “class,” and “comfort”?

This may be what it means today, but for thousands of years it had a far different meaning.
