>anon is taking aim at the very specifically defined topic at hand.
Yes. 'cause (in muh opinion) - I-am-a-jin - We are the Goa'uld.
And The Essene Gospel of Peace shows us What (Trivium) we've "got" and Why (Quadrivium) we need to individually (and collectively) Captain and navigate our earth-ship off the rocks.

>It's a wonder the Goa'uld lasted as long as they did, considering that as a species they have no sense of collective good and all they want to do is destroy each other to become top dog. As a united species they would of been unstoppable.

>you pretty much described humanity there bud.

>indeed. yet the problem is that we as humans can't even settle on what is 'collectively good'
like anything in science fiction, the Goa'uld are an allegory of the human condition. the negative side of humanity. with all their power and brilliance they are still nothing more than petty warlords.
>typically science fiction franchises will also have an allegory for something we as humans might become or aspire to be. in the case of Stargate the Nox, the Asgard or the Ancients. like you wouldn't see a Nox terrorist.
>the replicators are then the classic fear of technology taken us over or that we lose what makes us human.
>Stargate is actually a very good Sci-fi series.

>Sammy It's because they have Jaffa. Teal'c even said himself, they got the Goa'uld to where they are and they can bring them down again.

>Many humans in power positions are the same as the Goa'uld System Lords. Is needed to remember, the Tok'ra are Goa'uld too (despite they don't wanting to be associated to it, but since we don't have any specific name for the species as a whole, let's use Goa'uld for now) and they aren't like the System Lords. If you took a comparison using humans in powerful places we would see humans and Goa'ulds are very similar.
During the trial for Klorel, Lord Zipacna even make a great analogy between the Goa'uld and humans, when he talks about how humans domesticate and enslave other animals for their own benefits and the Goa'uld do the same with humans, which they consider lower-level animals, just imagine if he knew humans like to enslave each other during most of its history too.
>During most of the series, the majority of humans with great powers such as the government, NID, the army and so on have showed to care very little for alien races if not for SG-1 and the SGC personnel they would have taken and used many aliens for their benefits including Teal'C without any regard for their lives or rights.
