Talk about weaponizing California public employees' money against them. I knew somebody who had a job where they had to make mandatory retirement contributions to CALPERS. They left their job, took their CALPERS distribution & paid taxes on it, and left the state. I knew somebody else who stayed employed in CA and probably still has massive exposure to CALPERS for their pension.
