COVID-19 is not a virus or a disease

It is an event, a pandemic event

The disease that is pandemic is called

SARS-CoV-2

Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome is a disease

It involves failure of the respiratory system

And putting people on ventilators helps keep them alive

Until their body can overcome the virus

SAR-CoV-2 is caused by a variety of Corona virus

That is the CoV part of the disease name

This is the second time that a Corona virus has caused

A SARS epidemic therefore
