It seems there are multiple patents when it comes to the Corona virus/covid-19 pandemic.

This patent, which was applied for in 2016, was approved in november 2019. A month before the Corona virus outbreak!
How can you patent a vaccine before the actual disease?
One more thing, looking at the family of patents one can see a plethora of corona patents of which almost all of them are owned by Pirbright institute in GB. Is it a coincidence that Pirbright institute is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation?
