A short story as an aside…

I remember when I was a younger man than now, fresh out of college, head filled with all kinds of wrong ideas. Was too dumb to see anything. I flirted with atheism and felt my life going nowhere. Didn't see God anywhere and didn't hear his voice. Things went downhill, fast. At the lowest point I decided to pray. Didn't ask for salvation, nor did I ask for a job, a wife, or anything else. I asked for one thing - for God to open my eyes and give me wisdom, in the name of Jesus Christ. That was about 20 years ago.

As the years passed, I grew more and more confused after seeing things play out in the realm of politics…Bush, then Obama, etc…

But to make a long story short. Here I am. Hard for me to believe that God did not answer my prayer that day. Took me this long to realize it, but I'm thankful to be here among people whose eyes are also opened. It's a GIFT, anons. To able to sift through the lies and strike at the truth - even if we're wrong on some details - is something very special.

It gives me faith and hope that this board has been tapped by those who understand how precious the truth is. We shouldn't ever forget or downplay the critical role we're playing in all this. As time carries on, it's becoming clearer to me that those who are complaining about their families or friends not getting it, or even breaking ties with them, that there will come a day when those people will come back to you, confused and lost. When that moment comes we need pray for grace, and to have forgiveness in our hearts, so we can do what we're supposed to.
