Intresting contradictions

In Hamilton movie Thomas Jefferson is played by a black man.

In real history, Thomas Jefferson was a white man.

Thomas Jefferson was also a slave owner of which BLM has repeatedly reminded us is an unforgivable sin.

Doesn't the casting of a black man as Jefferson, put forth the idea that black men were also slave owners?

It seems to be a mixed message. What is the truth? Or is the historical account being rewritten for the younger audience???
