We (the ones interested in this subject for a long time now) knew they (the ones that try to avoid your awakening) would try something like that, that they were messing with virus, that they were always trying to find new forms of control through fear. They have been doing this forever, just look through history. Religions that makes you fear God, that makes us divided, that needed someone to intermediate the true experience. Always justifying that is all for your own good.
We all knew they were poisoning our food with pesticides, genetic altered crops, all in the name of demand. They made you to want things. They manipulated your mind. But we can't use this as an excuse forever.
Aliens are not in direct contact since at least ten years now. They already said what we needed to know.
Its our choice, our free will.
That is all that matters.
