The data/facts rule. A hypothesis is merely an explanation for the currently-known set of data. If new data falsifies a hypothesis, we alter the hypothesis or dump it and make a better one. (Rather than discarding DATA in order to hold on to the prevailing DOGMA.)

People need to understand that a hypothesis is never 100% "proven". It's simply the best model we have constructed so far, to explain the known data.
