>>5362 I do have everything on local storage, backed up on DVD.

>>5363 Acct is suspended - i.e. does not exist(?). Last time someone did a copyright strike against a QR mega acct, looked into dispute procedure and it would have required complete dox - name, email, address, phone, etc. just to challenge, and I was not willing to expose all my personal info.

When trying to access the acct, a popup appeared telling me to check email. I check the email associated with the mega acct and there is no message from them.

If it causes other anons on QR to pick up the responsibility of harvesting and sharing memes, that would be a good thing imo.

Being the "MF" meant having a big target on my back all the time and spouseanon never ceased worrying about it. Over a few years, we went thru, I think, 6-7 new modems from our ISP (lost count!) and I never could rule out the modem having been hacked, despite their pro forma denials.

Plan (subject to revision): I still need a way to share vids and other large files with ABCU. Dropbox is out b/c past use. I don't mind making a new proton email acct and a new mega acct for sharing content. If the link is known to only a few, I don't expect this would create further trouble. Will do this later today unless frens have a better idea.

Tested a bunch of different MP4-to-GIF conversion methods including locally-hosted tools hand tuned.

(Was not able to test gifcurry on my system; it has potential.)

Best results:

https://www.onlineconverter.com/mp4-to-gif

Input: 16MB 24 second, 30 fps 1280x720 MP4

Output: Half-size, 640x360 px GIF.

Result: Highly optimized 13.0 MB file consisting of 675 delta frames of varying duration.

(No audio of course).

It is rapid too.

Nothing I was able to do by hand came anywhere close to matching this quality.

YW fren.

Can you imagine reading the breads WITHOUT feeling like you have to evaluate every meme that goes by to decide if it has been seen before, if it's true, if it's useful, then clicking the link, deciding how to name it, typing a tag, and downloading?

It was a very heavy burden. I picked it up gladly, but now I am glad to put it down!!!

We're in a different meme era and it happened quite suddenly.

Woke up thinking we should interview Colorado Republican House candidate Lauren Boebert. I would love to interview her but I am required to stay anon at this time. Wonder if there's a way to do an interview by anonymous email. If I were a candidate I would probably shy away from that. I would ask open-ended questions to give her a nice opportunity to state her views.

No my reader only shows 1 post with that tripcode.

  1. Sorted by Title (by tripcode)

  2. Sorted Date descending, earliest shown is 7/22/20.

I will check and see if there's a parameter in my reader how far back in time to go, or whether it's determined by what 8kun supplies in the feed.

Standby.

It's an updated version of my reader. Haven't played around with settings for months. Some unfamiliar menus here.

Pic 1 shows default setting do not restrict how far back in time the feeds are fetched.

Pic 2 says abcu feed is working

Tried using Filter on !!qMFQqVT8Uw and it displays only the one post by Sgt B.

Pic 3 found Max Age setting under Feeds | Browser. I will try a higher setting and see what happens. Not sure if it applies to one feed or all. May have to remove the feed and recreate it to do this test.

Seems like the app has changed quite a bit since I last used it.

Will report back if I can get longer history of !!qMFQqVT8Uw posts

Changed cleanup on exit setting to delete nothing automatically.

Removed ABCU Tripcode Feed.

Created new ABCU Tripcode Feed.

Feed populates, again, with 99 items going back to 7/22/20.

As before, only one post from !!qMFQqVT8Uw is present.

Verified using Filter (search) on tripcode.

I don't see any more options that would force QuiteRSS to fetch older data.

Suspect there might be a date or quantity limit established by CM when he set up the code on his end.

End of experiment?

My reader shows the trip in the Title field and the Post text (with no newlines) in the text field.

My reader is capable of showing images and even fully formatted posts from news sites.

Zerohedge example of images in feed.

Whether the feed provides images or not is, I think, a characteristic of how the RSS site owner sets it up. And then you can probably configure your reader to display or not display full webpages or just text + images or just text.

>โ€œDarkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.โ€

>~ Martin Luther King Jr.

>โ€œThis fall I think you're riding forโ€”it's a special kind of fall, a horrible kind. The man falling isn't permitted to feel or hear himself hit bottom. He just keeps falling and falling. The whole arrangement's designed for men who, at some time or other in their lives, were looking for something their own environment couldn't supply them with. Or they thought their own environment couldn't supply them with. So they gave up looking. They gave it up before they ever really even got started.โ€

>~ J.D. Salinger

>โ€œEveryone is a moon, and has a dark side which he never shows to anybody.โ€

>~ Mark Twain

>โ€œI will love the light for it shows me the way, yet I will endure the darkness for it shows me the stars.โ€

>~ Og Mandino

>"To know extreme joy one must know extreme sadness. To show others the light one must know darkness. No matter how dark things get, the only way to fail is to give up. NEVER GIVE UP!"

>~ Sgt B

>โ€œWe can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.โ€

>~ Plato

Not sure how deep to dig in trying to understand these quotes.

Surface dig:

Don't give up

Darkness and light

Equating love to light

If a single quoteโ€ฆwe might guess the purposeโ€ฆbut presumably the six quotes in combination mean something more.

Dark is necessary prior to light

Heading into a dark period where we need to have a lot of faith that we will come out into the light

Mark Twain has me flummoxed. Yes each person has secrets unknown to others. Some would say sins, others would say bad karma. Or simply a consequence of being unable to fully share our truths with others because human comms is never quite adequate.

The Salinger thing, not sure who the "you" is referring to. Someone is going to fall down off the public esteem pedestal. Something about self-sufficiency versus neediness. A horrible fall, someone failing because they need something from outside themself, failing by never trying.

Never heard of Og Mandino. Wikipedia reveals:

Augustine "Og" Mandino II was an American author. He wrote the bestselling book The Greatest Salesman in the World. His books have sold over 50 million copies and have been translated into over 25 languages. He was the president of Success Unlimited magazine until 1976 and was inducted into the National Speakers Association's Hall of Fame

Hidden Comms

If it contains hidden comms, I lack the key to decode it. Can think of all kinds of ways that it could encode information. Word repetition, initial letters, position of Sgt B's quote in the list, pick out individual letters using a template, a specific word with a prearranged meaning, unlimited possibilities really. So IDK.

What do you think, frens?

I had like zero interest in literature while in school. Read what I had do. Liked a few very much: Moby Dick. A few I just didn't get, like the Red Badge of Courage. They made us read some horrible crap in high school: Portnoy's Complaint! (The kid gets onto the subway, jacks off in a piece of liver, a baseball glove, his sister's bra, etc.) Ugh.

Can't say I ever read Catcher in the Rye.

I was more focused on languages, science and engineering, psychology, computers, ๐ŸŽต

If I had life to do over again, it might have gone completely different. Who knows.

I've read a lot about certain things but not about others. I'm weak on world history, strong on history of technology. Weak on math, strong on (layperson-level) general science knowledge. Good retention for certain topics where you make or build or grow things. Poor retention for numbers and dates. When I was in 4th grade my parents sent me to girl scout camp for 2 weeks one summer (only time). The other girls started teasing me by calling me the 'walking encyclopedia'. I did not do it on purpose, it was just how I was, even back then! Hurt my feelings. Now, I don't care. Learned to swim in the lake and canoe though, that summer. I freaked out one of the counsellors because I had a pocket knife my dad gave me, and knew how to whittle with it. The counsellor assumed I was a klutz and was going to cut myself โ€“ not!

/abcu/ is in the QR dough but we don't know who put it there. Baker OSS eventually succeeded in removing /warroom/ from the dough after some crazy shit with EC spamming the bread for hours to put it back in. Some of the bakers are lumping abcu in with "all those 3rd party sites that are trying to fragment QR" including EC's warroom. Some are still kicking it around.

In the Bible, a "day" as defined by God begins at sunset and ends the following sunset. So it is the night time hours followed by sunrise and the daytime hours. It is a metaphor for darkness followed by light. Ignorance to wisdom. Sin to salvation. And similar allegories.

This is wisdom.

>The bakers should know ABCU is not there to divide but provide support. We have not tried to steal anyone. But only offer a separate outlet for dedicated researchers.

>We have shared much (if not all) of our content with /qr/

>Q has asked that many refrain from mentioning Q / Qanon.

>ABCU is a great way to get this done. I will never force or even demand any anon do anything.

>Each anon knows what needs be done. and only they know their skills and potential.

>Provide news by being the news.

These words are comfy and true and insightful.
