This is the latest update from the Secretary of State.

Basically he is saying that the state had the option to throw out all write-in votes. In this case the percentage difference between Moore and Jones would have been even larger than currently assessed. However since the total number of write-in votes is greater than the difference of votes received between the two, the state has a law in effect that requires that the write-in votes be included in the final outcome (percentages stay tighter).

This is significant since an automatic recount begins if the margin is within 0.5%. Anything that brings the difference percentage down is a good thing.

One more update from today.

Basically the Secretary of State is requiring that all counties record and report write-in votes. This is significant since some counties reported zero write-in votes so far. Any additional write-in votes that are added to the totals brings the percentage difference down (a good thing for us!).
