Posted this once before, but I'll ask the question again as food for thought:

Modern jet plane controls are fly-by-wire

Are modern train controls the same way?

Because modern car controls are also F-B-W.

If so, in light of the knowledge that modern cars can be hacked, it's reasonable to me to believe that the same can be done with train or plane controls.

It sometimes scares me when God gives me such a flash of insight, as I hadn't actually heard any stories about the train being erratic in its operation. But I like it! It's saved my neck a number of times.

This also makes the half hour delay in departing the station sound even more suspicious
