Not if the EMP was targeted.

US military has new weapons with targeted EMP.

You anons keep referring to EMP in the sense of a broad-base massive EMP such as that caused by a large nuke.

We have a new weapon called CHAMP, developed by Raytheon, that has already been tested, and can be deployed on missiles. It is directed energy, in this case using bursts of microwave energy. That is just one application of the technology.

I am certain military has targeted / directed energy EMP capability. They would use something that would cause everyone's cell phones to essentially melt. They WOULD, however, have used a targeted emp to cause a fire in the most critical part of the infrastructure. And the idiots that designed ATL's power grid desigined it with a single point of failure, that being both primary and backup power going thru the same damn tunnel. Idiots. But in this case, apparently exploited by /ourguys/ for an op.
