for further reference, the Catholic Bible - the "Vulgate" is in Latin - was translated by Jerome and was the basis of the King James Version translation to English
If you want to dive deep, I recommend having KJV and the Interlinear Bible (it's a 4 volume set) along with an NLT (and NIV) version

Isaiah 14:12 being one
so I figured out one meaning of it being a "number of man"
basically goes like this
Stigma = ς = outdated Greek letter which is a ligature (two letters combined into one) and in this case stigma is "S" (sigma) and "T" (tau) therefore "ST" sound
If you were to take CHI (χ) and create a ligature out of the "C" and "H" sounds (remember chi is the sound of "bach" or "loch ness") then you have a C with an H overlayed
it creates an E
putting that together creates the sound of the word "exist"
χξς with chi being a ligature would sound like this: "E" - "Z" - "ST" = EXIST
