I'm starting to think the Pope connection is the thing that will be hardest for teh world to grasp.

Catholic Church is 1 billion Christians.

As a former Catholic, I know how the Pope is revered in the church (one of the reasons that I am no longer a Catholic, btw).

The church's near-idolatry of a single human is against God's law … and extremely dangerous.

I think we are seeing the fruits of that idolatry.

For the billion+ Catholics of the world, this is not going to go down easily, I'm afraid.

Many hard-core Catholics (South America, for instance) may well end up in the hospital from the news.
