I'm guessing Eric Schmidt stepped down because his love affair with Obama & Clinton since 2008. He was balls deep with Google into Foreign affairs when Clinton was SoS Cohen was said to be able to do things the CIA couldn't do etc. etc.
They donated to CGI millions
I know this is all known, but re-reading this report after the news of him stepping down kinda makes things look a bit more clear.
