No, not to destroy evidence, but for the Cabal to launch attacks against the Alliance. The Cabal (via SpaceX and Musk) launched what could have been an attack or show of power from within Alliance territories. All they would have to do is hope that POTUS team wasn't ready to take out the missile, spin the story that it was NK who actually fired and then it would be WW3. To shoot the missiles from NK, POTUS and team would have less response time than a missile shot from US soil.

Who has historically been concerned about NK attacks - SK, Japan, US. If a missile hit both Japan and US simultaneously, it would be easy to spin it such that NK got blamed.
