CrowdStrike was responsible for telling the people that it was Russians that hacked the DNC servers.

If I'm reading this right, CrowdStrike did the forensic investigation of the hacked DNC server. Connecting the dots, CrowdStrike (Google) could have done anything they wanted with the data that was there.
